- Scared yet? You outta be!
What is this about?
If this was an issue that was "of highly personal nature" why would he be on admin leave? It sounds like it was a personal thing not a work thing????

MHO, speculation..... maybe signing off on properties that were not properly inspected? I am 99% certain that Mickey and Donald houseflippers here paid cash for theirs, as this house does not meet any of the regs.
There are so many city coverups. I uncovered one, about the Felton Oaks fire, but the Eprise will not dig into it.
lot of greasy palms around....

Superintendent of Buildings James Casieri requested an injunction in Brockton Superior Court earlier this month, asking the court to stop Police Chief John Crowley and anyone in his department from releasing the report, prepared by Brockton police in late 2012 and early 2013.
Casieri was abruptly placed on paid administrative in November 2012 leave over a "personnel matter." Last summer, The Enterprise reported that city officials were staying quiet about the matter and that they denied a public records request for more information on Casieri’s six-week leave.
After that, city activist and former mayoral candidate Ron Matta filed a separate records request, seeking the internal affairs report that contained the results of the months-long investigation into what happened between Casieri and the city employee.
Rest of article can be read via above link.
And we don't have a Code Enforcement Officer that was promised by the Mayor because that's apparently embroiled in another Secret Personnel issue

The Chief of Police wants to release under the Freedom Of Information Act but has been blocked. Matta has filed to have said Information released. A hearing in that request is scheduled for May 14.
"Brockton police initiated their investigation in October 2012 to investigate "a complaint by a City employee regarding potential criminal activity by Mr. Casieri," Kaiser wrote in the injunction request."

The director of the Brockton Public Library is apparently no longer a city employee although details of her exit are being closely guarded. Three-year director Elizabeth Marcus has been absent from the top post since at least March in what appears to be a negotiated settlement.
Mark Linde, the chairman of the library’s Board of Trustees declined comment, referring all inquiries to Assistant City Solicitor Kate Feodoroff. In the meanwhile, Marcus’s assistant, Keith Choquette, has been named interim director.
“I really cannot comment on our previous director,” he said, referring any inquiries about Marcus to Bob Buckley, who is chief of staff for Mayor Bill Carpenter.
City Personnel Director Maureen Cruise also forwarded a request from The Enterprise for details of Marcus’s departure – as well as a copy of her contract and any other related documents – to Buckley, who declined comment.

Did anybody notice??
Perhaps it is an appropriate time to evaluate the need and cost (FY15 net = $91,470) of the position.

Still seems something's up and doesn't appear at first glance to be just as simple as someone resigning.

Word is a lot of the school librarians got the ax. Seems that some creative co-mingling might be of benefit.

And what would warrant keeping a negotiated settlement silent?

She is on PAID Leave until January, 2016. She makes $90k a year. She's been out since April. COB taxpayers are paying her salary as well as the Assistant Director and we don't know why?

Has anyone noticed a drastic change in the library service since April??
Maybe the department can operate without one position. It's "budget week", a hundred thousand cut to the department would also go unnoticed. And, without a Director, I wonder who presented the budget for approval.

The CC tried to cut the Library Directors salary out of the Library Budget. It was then pointed out that if the budget was shorted by that amount then the argument was made that someone else could be laid off. ( I think they're wrong, for what it's worth)? Roll Call was made. It was 5/5 so motion failed. So we the taxpayers, now will pay her salary for 8 months and we don't know why. And I'd assume the Assistant will get interim Director Pay. Doesn't seem seem right.

um... let's call them Ocean's Eleven. You are so right, WardSeven. What are they doing? None of them are watching the money.....WardSeven wrote: Thanks for the info Dad. I haven't been able to keep with the budget hearings. Someone in the "Group of Eleven" should have realized that to make the payroll cut they had to motion to eliminate the position and let the money then follow.
and Do2: RE: "What happened to Paul Sullivan in the Assessors Office as well as the woman clerk? Paul's been replaced by an Interim Director as well as the clerk. " I have been asking about Paul Sullivan too. His replacement, John O'Donnell is good at vague replies. I notified them of a lot of illegal activities with home remodels by RE agents without permits and no re-assessments done. It is a huge issue. They are not interested. The Enterprise is in Bill's back pocket.
Who do I report a scandal to? no one cares!
