The measure was up for a final vote by the council Monday night, but Ward 2 Councilor Thomas Monahan motioned to table it, Council President Dennis Eaniri said.
Councilors voted 6-5 in favor of that motion, Eaniri said. There is no set date for the measure to be brought back for a vote, but that could happen AT ANY TIME IF A COUNCILOR TAKES ACTION.
Councillors who voted Against Tabling the request :
Asack, Barnes, Cruise, Rodrigues, Stewart
You'll note 3 of the 5 have not yet completed a full term before they believe they should get a raise. When's the last time anyone worked Less than 2 years and got a 50% raise? Remember that at the next election.
Kudos to those who voted for tabling this ridiculous raise request (my opinion)
DeNapoli, DuBois, Eaniri, Monahan, Studenski, Sullivan
Kudos to Tom Monahan for Introducing the initial Vote to table the request for increase.
Yeah, I'm not surprised that Barnes voted against tabling the raise. I swear if she gets elected again, I'm going to suck on a tail pipe.

Michele Dubois - her seat will be open
Cruise has an opponent
Two others running for open CAL seat
Two seats will be open on School Committee.
So they'll be open spots.
I'll personally vote for anyone on record who says they're ok with on the PP. and vote to stop litigating.
I hope someone runs against the Mayor.

And Carpenter was instrumental in the settlement of the PP, why replace him?

Couple things the Mayor has done I am agreement on. I voted for him. I agree on the PP and I reluctantly voted for the Casino. My concerns are directly related to proximity to my house and nothing else. I give him credit for spearheading. I have issues in several things he's done/not gone. I think a Mayoral position should be challenged. Not specifically by anyone just in general.

but it won't stop me from bitching... sorry

But the current Mayor won by only 54 votes
And the Casino passed by 143 votes.
So Votes Occasionally Count. Just saying.

and because i don't vote doesn't negate my right to free speech... if i want to bitch about the lousy leaders doing a lousy job, i will
when voting again becomes a meaningful endeavor, then i'll indulge ... until then, there's the internet
