I know we are understaffed but Community Meetings and Shot Spotter up doesn't appear to be working. Curfews aren't an option as the shootings are at all hours. What is/should the Mayor do? And why do we never IMO, hear from the Chief of Police, Crowley?

- A Brockton gunshots call led to a chase Friday night into West Bridgewater and then back into city before the driver got away. At 11:09 p.m., police responded to a call for gunshots at the intersection of Menlo Street and Longwood Avenue, Brockton Police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice said.
When officers arrived, they found 11 9mm shell casings scattered in the road, LeGrice said.
Also at 11:09 p.m., police tried to stop the driver of a Toyota Camry that LeGrice said they believe may have been involved in the gunfire. NThe chase started on Talbot Street, off West Chestnut Street about a mile from where the gunshots occurred.
The driver fled to Belmont Street and got onto Route 24 South, police said. The driver then got off Route 24 at Exit 16B on Route 106 in West Bridgewater. The chase continued down to North Elm Street and then to Copeland Street back into Brockton where they eventually lost sight of the driver, police said.

So, why isn’t anything being done? The officers are running their arse off chasing false gun shots.

Police found at least 10 shell casings after the shooting that occurred about 1:15 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Prospect Street and North Warren Avenue, on the city’s north side. MNo injuries were reported and no arrests had been made by 4 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The shell casings were found adjacent to the Tanners Hill condominium complex, and a couple of feet away from a Little Tykes truck sitting in the back yard of one condominium unit. MA bullet hole was seen in the left side of a gray Infiniti parked in the driveway of a Prospect Street home near the intersection. Police were seen interviewing an unidentified man at the scene.
ShotSpotter detected 10 gunshots on Prospect Street, police said. Police also received several emergency calls reporting the daytime gunfire.

A gathering of people drinking alcohol outside of a house on a small dead-end Brockton street turned violent early Wednesday morning when two people began shooting at one another.
Brockton Police received multiple 911 calls for gunshots on Pleasant View Avenue about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.
A witness told police that several people had been drinking outside 22 Pleasant View Ave. when there was "some kind of confrontation," Brockton Police Lt. Kenneth LeGrice said.

Anyone who is in a crime watch group knows that no good can come out of any gathering at 12:10 am. I do not blame the surrounding neighbors, but their inaction is part of the problem we all face. What took them so long to call the police? If a witness knew several people were drinking outside at that time of night, that is what crime watch is all about. You contact the surrounding neighbors, band together so no single person is responsible for reporting it, call the police, and give them a chance to stop the violence by disbanding the group. Reporting things will help the police. Once the guns are fired, it is too late.

Also, CF, you're post is spot on!!
Because at 12:10 AM, WEDNESDAY, for most people it's a "work" night. Pretty sure, my neighbors around a fire pit aren't carrying guns and talking smack.
More importantly, why are they missing Eachother!! Do us a favor...
