On an aside note, Former BPS Superintendent Matt Malone was just hired to be the new Super of Fall River Schools.,

School Committee Meeting 6/21. Of particular interest to some may be the Mayor's comments at about 1:00 on. He's apparently dismayed at the names of some of the Administrators that were cut. Also, he cut the School Resource Officers due to his BPD OT budget being cut.

Best way not to cut is to grow the city budget by lowering the commercial rate, raising the residential rate and enticing new businesses here. Then Brockton Kids will be able to do more than just count! They may be able to add, read, write , and succeed!

By the way when Malone was Superintendent he had 1 assistant Superintendent..............now we have 5!! My what a great move we made!! Those 5 combine to earn $932,000 this year!!! He had one earning $148,000............................he saved us $784,000 as Superintendent!!! I take these numbers from online budget of Brockton! Yeah, we showed him who is boss!!!

We have 1 super and 2 deputies and we always had a deputy

We are the most overstaffed central administration I've ever heard of. By the way, which Central Administrator was arrested twice for drunk driving??

Last night at the SC Meeting it was voted that 12 teachers will be recalled. 8 will go beck to the BHS which due to size took the biggest hit. The remdining 4 will be recalled at the Super's discretion

2 Administrators will be recalled. This Was per the MAYOR. He went as far as to say allegedly if the 2 Administrators weren't recalled, HE THE MAYOR was going to rescind the almost $1million dollars he added to the School Budget and put it in that big black hole called the stabilization fund. So blame that on the Mayor.

Now under full disclosure, I left this meeting as it was unbelievably long. So I will wait and watch it on Friday. But my understanding from several people is this is how it went down.

The City is a financial mess being run by a dictator.

I don't know what will be more entertaining...the upcoming Presidential Debates or the "Battle of the CC and Mayor". Thinking both.

Take down the signs...the city has re-employed all but 12 of the laid off........1428 employees becomes 1416 and the teachers are still looking at a 3% raise....there was no great sacrifice here! WE look like a giant yard sale with the signs up!

Thats insane. What Brockton has to do is get rid of our City Council, adopt a strong Mayor Weak Council form of Government and settle the Power Plant Lawsuit, let them build, charge them for the reclaimed wastewater or sell them the frigging water from the frigging aqauria! Christ! We have resources that the CC will not allow us to use!!! WTF! Every problem in this City stems from the City Council. When Balzotti was Mayor, they led her around by the nose, Carpenter don't play that so hence all the frigging lawsuits. Farwell is a dick and he's selling this City down the river to the illegals.

PP is history. Even the Mayor is realizing that in his recent quotes. With the energy bill Baker just signed there is not going to be a need.

Not one CC including the Mayor has said they won't support the Trust City Act so not sure why you've signaled out Farwell?

So, I'm sure the SC works hard and deserves a raise. I know it's not a huge hit to the budget and We all deserve a raise. But you just laid off more teachers, Laid off all the school librarians and cut all middle school sports to the bone among many other cuts.

If returned to the school Committee I will be donating this increase back to the kids.

While the school committee works hard so do our teachers and support staff.

I would rather in hard times turn that money back to the kids and those who need it more than me.

At this point in time as a campaign promise I am going to either forgo the raise or give the net number back to the kids through donors choose or other ways

This is a leadership issue for me.

Strong leaders know when its people are hurting and lead by example.

I got into this to help our kids and in hard times we need to show leadership more than ever.

While this raise is more than commensurate with the duties I need to put our kids first
