Crimewatch happenings

Its just small number statistics and its not uncommon. Brockton also had no murders from Sept 11 2011 to June 8 2012.

That said I will give all the credit to our officers on the street. It's a jungle out there.

dadof2 wrote: Yes it shouldn't be minimized. Any time a large City goes without a murder is good. But let's not pat ourselves (not literally) on the back. It's 6 months. Let's see where we end up year end. And I ask you, does anyone feel safe anywhere in the City? I never walk around, with the exception of around my block.

i go to only two places in brockton, and it only comes when it's convenient.... Irvings, if i need something and i'm in the area- like yesterday on way home from doc's appointment in holbrook...and Hess on south main, if i'm leaving home to go to work and need gas
otherwise, i stay out of brockton... and so doesn't my family... there is absolutely nothing of any value in this city one can't get elsewhere in any of the surrounding towns

Why haven't they done anything? If they're waiting for the big catch it
may never happen. Get rid of them little by little. Make them miserable and
they just might move on elsewhere.

"For a second time in less than 10 hours, gunshots rang out in Brockton's west side. Around 2:22 a.m. Friday, ShotSpotter, the city's electronic gunfire detection system, reported 9 gunshots near the corner of Brook and Leavitt streets. The streets are in between Belmont Street and James Edgar Playground. Officers searched the area and found five 9mm shell casings and an unspent round in the road, police said.
The incident was the second time officers responded to gunfire on the west side. No arrests made in daytime Brockton shooting on city's west side. Shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, at least two rounds were fired at the corner of Malvern Road and Hawley Street, about a mile away from Brook Street."

*Miraculously" is not a word I'd use and surprise surprise no one was cooperative with police
" Brockton home with 8 people inside was shot 11 times and miraculously no one was injured early Saturday morning, police said.Brockton Police received a call around 12:30 a.m. from a resident who said his house at 48 River St. had just been shot up.'
"When officers arrived they found that the house had been shot 11 times. Investigators found two spent slugs in the kitchen, one in the living room and one in an upstairs bedroom. Some of the projectiles broke apart upon impact causing a total of 16 holes inside the home, police said. Police believe the shooting was done inside a vehicle, as there were no shell casings found outside the home."
