Phase VI of the Sewer Rehabilitation Project will begin on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 7:00AM on Main Street from Broad Street to Oak Street. The project is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete. The project will affect both water and sewer lines and may involve temporary shutdown of water services. Just a friendly reminder: disposal of leaves within twenty-five (25) feet of rivers and streams is in violation of the Federal Rivers Act and will cause a backup and flooding. The Brockton Historical Society announces that it will be hosting its first annual golf tournament honoring the late D.W. Field. The tournament will be held at D.W. Field Golf Course on Thursday, May 22, 2008. City wide Sign-ups for Cub Scouts will take place on May 20, 2008 at Brockton HS Green Cafeteria from 7-8PM.
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program.

The Kids Road Races have started at DW Fields park! Its a 2.2 mile loop run around DW Field for all kids age 14 and under. Races start at 10 AM sharp, with registration at 9:45 AM. There is a participation donation of $1.00 per week. Ribbons are awarded weekly in each age group, and all kids who participate in 4 or more races receive a trophy and commemorative t-shirt at the end of the season.
